Application Timeline

Follow these dates and deadlines to ensure that you receive all the aid you are eligible for.

Fall 2024

The 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available. (Please check back for specific dates.) Submit your FAFSA after it becomes available but before the April 1 deadline below.

To be considered for Loans for Disadvantaged Students and Primary Care Loans, you will need to complete all student, spouse (if applicable) and parent sections of the FAFSA—regardless of your age.

April 1, 2025

This is the final deadline to submit the following:

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.

  • USC’s Federal School Code is 001328.
  • All contributors to the FAFSA will be required to consent to having their income tax data imported directly from the IRS.

Financial Aid Supplement
Follow the instructions provided on your Financial Aid Summary and Tasks (FAST) portal to complete and submit the Financial Aid Supplement online.

Reply Promptly
Respond to any requests for additional information within 10 days.


July 1, 2025

Apply for any loans you wish to borrow:

First-time Federal Direct or Federal Graduate PLUS Loan borrowers must complete a Master Promissory Note online at studentaid.gov. A separate Master Promissory Note must be signed for both the Federal Direct Loan and the Federal Graduate PLUS Loan.

First-time Federal Direct Loan borrowers must complete entrance loan counseling online at usc.igrad.com.
